A mother’s love in the herd
The calves grow up together with their mothers in the herd. They can drink their mother’s milk at any time and develop naturally into young cattle. Later, they join a herd of animals of the same age.
Free-range husbandry
Suckler cow husbandry is characterised by cattle-friendly housing and regular exercise outdoors. This natural form of husbandry is the ideal way to promote animal welfare and health.

Balanced feeding
The feed consists mainly of grass and hay. Growth-stimulating additives, animal proteins and genetically engineered feed are prohibited.
Switzerland contains a myriad of grassland
In Switzerland, 80% of the land used for alpine and agricultural purposes consists of meadows and pastures. Suckler cows help to maintain our mountains and hilly landscapes.

Premium-Beef Simmental and Premium-Beef Angus cattle are born in Switzerland and grow up on Beef Cattle Switzerland member farms.
Strict label controls
The farms are regularly inspected by the beef control inspection body and the inspection service of Schweizer Tierschutz (STS) on an unannounced basis.
