Committed to animal welfare and sustainability
Beef Cattle Switzerland is committed to animal welfare, natural husbandry and the optimal use of Swiss grassland. Our main goal is to strengthen the commercial presence and secure the long-term future of suckler cow husbandry under fair and sustainable conditions. All farms that produce beef in accordance with the strict policies of Beef Cattle Switzerland belong to the association.
What are labels and who do they belong to?
A label identifies products that comply with certain quality or production standards. You may already be familiar with one or two from the logo or perhaps you have spotted them in your local Coop store. The best-known Beef Cattle Switzerland labels are Natura-Beef and Natura-Veal.

Our members – the farming families
Our members act out of conviction and are unwavering in their commitment to animal welfare, sustainability and cost-effectiveness – in complete harmony with nature’s rhythms. In keeping with the motto “From meadow to plate”, they focus on maintaining short cycles and ensuring the origin of their products is clear.
All of the members of Beef Cattle Switzerland that raise their animals in accordance with the label guidelines are committed to the highest standards of animal welfare and sustainable agriculture.

| 0 | The percentage of soya, palm oil and palm fat present in meat bearing the Natura-Beef or Natura-Veal label. These products are strictly prohibited in the grassland-based feeding of suckler cow herds. |
| 39 | The number of different beef cattle breeds recognised in the SBHB Swiss Beef Cattle Herd Book. Beef Cattle Switzerland is actively committed to preserving the diversity of breeds. |
